Patelworks Dance Theater is a Long Island based dance troupe launched by Artistic Director, Smruti Patel.  A troupe of eight dancers from Long Island and New York City, Patelworks Dance Theater presents traditional Classical Indian dances as well as original choreography of Classical Indian dance, Post-Modern dance and a fusion of the styles.  Visual Art Studio photographed and filmed the benefit concert for Safe Passage @Tabler Center for Arts, Culture and Humanities. Safe Passage provides food, schooling and medical care for the families who survive picking through the garbage of the Guatemala City garbage dump. Patelworks raised over $3,000 for the project. The event was co-sponsored by The Musicians Alliance for Peace.
